Smt .Indira Gandhi College Of Engineering

PREAMBLE:

Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Engineering Library has been successfully catering to the needs of all the students and staff. It has built a rich collection of over  12300 books, 2300 titles and 306 bound volumes of journals. It has also a rich collection of resources in electronic media. The library is subscribing to 60 journals out of which 30 are national and 30 are international. Also library is subscribing to 5 popular magazines apart from good number of news papers.

All students, faculty members and employees of the college are entitled for the library membership, each member student of the library will be issued three books for fifteen days.

The library has got the institutional membership of IIT Bombay Central Library, Students and faculty members of our college frequently visit IIT Bombay Central Library to make use of available resources.

Library Staff provide “Interlibrary Loan Service” through which students and staff of our college can get books or journal articles (which are not available with us) from other libraries of the engineering college at Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

 PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE:

With the new wing the area of the library  spreads over 400 sq mtr. Library is having one Stack Room, two Reading Rooms for students, one Reading Room for staff, Internet and multimedia Center,  and Reprographic Center.

INTERNET, MULTIMEDIA AND REPROGRAPHIC FACILITY:

Internet and multimedia center which is located in the library consist of 10 PC’s, has been providing access to internet and CD-ROM searching facility for all the members. Xeroxing facility is also available in the library.
